louisiana is in the bottom half of education spending per student. so is it time for an amicable break up, a nice break up, but a breakup indeed. chuck thomson has wondered the same thing. he went to the south and did some research, the result, a hilarious book about folks that he says may be holding our country back. the book is called "better off without them, a northern manifest toe for southern secession." chuck, thanks for being here. your book is terrific. in the very beginning of the book, you say you find yourself shouting: >> so, first and foremost, chuck, tell us how you really feel about the south. >> i really feel about that passage, which is probably the most quoted from the entire book is that hyperbole is an interesting literary device and a grabber. a lot of people have assumed that that is what the entire book is about. thanks for having me on and having read at least past the first pang so you know there's a little more to it and spleen and rage and venom, of which i have a decent amount, but i think a lot of americans do on both the north and south. >> 10 out of the
